Woody Guthrie's Music
with Frankie Fuchs

A fun, entertaining program for the whole family with musician and Guthrie family friend Frankie Fuchs. Sing a long with "This Land Is Your Land" and other Guthrie folk songs.

The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County

Tuesday, May 22, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Grant R. Brimhall Library


Bring the whole family to enjoy a free performance of an adapation of Mark Twain's classic comedy written for the stage by Joseph McDonough. The story follows Jim Smiley, who has an uncanny ability to win bets he makes, until the citizens of Calaveras County make it difficult for him. The entire family will be entertained by a hilarious cast of local high school students.

For children 2-3 years old. Stories, songs, fingerplays and rhymes will be yours to enjoy in these parent participation programs designed to keep the attention of active 2-year olds or those who are just three. Presented in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room.

For ages 12-24 months. Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their little ones for an interactive session of rhymes, stories, and songs. Playtime follows. Program presented in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room. (No storytime March 21.)

For children 3-5 year olds. Join us for 30-minute storytimes of delightful tales, fingerplays, songs, rhymes and riddles. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to join their preschoolers as they participate in these fun-filled programs.  Presented in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Children's Program Room. For children 4-6 years old. Use books to develop early childhood literacy skills and a love for reading. These storytimes introduce Spanish culture and vocabulary to native English speakers through stories, songs, games and more.  Presented in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Children's Program Room.

Children's and Teens' programs at the Grant R. Brimhall Library and Newbury Park Branch Library are very popular. In order that all may enjoy them, we ask that you observe the following guidelines: Please follow the suggested age guidelines listed for each program. Storytimes are expressly designed for the age group listed.
  • We make every attempt to begin on time. As it can be distracting to the storyteller and children, please arrive on time for programs. We may not be able to accommodate latecomers.
  • No need to signup, just come and join the fun!  For more information, please ask the Children’s Help Desk, or call 449-2660, option 7; or the Newbury Park Branch Library at 805-498-2139.
