- Hugo Awards - awards for excellence in the field of science fiction and fantasy
- International Reading Association Children's and Young Adult's Book Awards - are given for an author’s first or second published book written for children or young adults (ages birth to 17 years)

- Margaret E. Edwards Award - honors an author, as well as a specific body of his or her work, for significant and lasting contribution to young adult literature
