Realistic Fiction, Bildungsroman - The Children of Willesden Lane by Mona Golabeck and Lee Cohen

Falling leaves is a memorable book that accounts for the cruel, harsh life that Adeline suffered as a child. Usually you hear about the suffering of children that are deprived of food and basic life necessities, however it is not usual to read a about a book that depicts the quest of a young girl for the love of a family.
